Die Unverfügbaren

The Unavailable – Die Frankfurter Botschaft

Germaine Tillion did something incredible: During her imprisonment in the women’s concentration camp Ravensbrück, she secretly wrote a musical piece about life in the concentration camp.  She practiced the libretto to “Der ‘Verfügbar’ in der Unterwelt” (The ‘Available’ in the Underworld) hidden in a box without instruments together with other prisoners. The performance presents 13 chansons from this libretto and highlights the creation of the work, the life of Tillion and other women in Ravensbrück, and the Resistance. The Belgian singer Annick Moerman, the German author Bert Bresgen and other international artists present “Die Unverfügbaren”, a musical-theatrical lecture performance about the French female resistance fighter and scientist.
