A snapshot introduction to signing
This 2 hour session includes discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to start using Makaton in everyday situations at home or work + learning to sign along to a popular song!

Abby Young (she/her) is an artist based in Shepton Mallet, UK. She also works supporting the production element of a wide range of projects for Somerset’s theatre scene as well as running her own company, ‘Tall Tails‘, who works with accessibility at the forefront of their practice. Abby is passionate about striving to do her best to understand peoples’ access needs, embedding this practice into her work and encouraging others to work with access as a priority when planning projects. She is an advocate for supporting and facilitating intergenerational work and experience. Abby is committed to listening and having progressive conversations. She is a leader in creating supportive platforms for underrepresented communities in Somerset and is against oppression, discrimination, social inequality and injustice.
