The 4th IFTF should have the character of a festival for an interested audience and at the same time be a meeting point for women* in theater. Of course, this year 2020 brought us these additional challenges to continue working as women* and artists* in the middle of a global pandemic. And now the time has come, dear fellow women*/readers*, because we have not given up on getting this program off the ground and also expanded it this year with livestreaming that will reach to many. We want to inspire and challenge to shape the feminist debate artistically. Because this debate has now become even more important for all of us and does not stop at a Covid-19 virus.
Theater makers and performers are present for 4 days, present, discuss and lead workshops, are in exchange with the audience and invited active women* from science, art and culture.
This year’s theme “Collective Empowerment Across Borders” is the center of our work, and creates the common space – a free space for mutual empowerment, to track down geopolitical, gender-socialized and age-related borders within us, to go beyond internalized limitations, artistically researching, and creatively realizing what moves (us).
You are all welcome to join us on this journey.

Due to pandemic regulations, the number of visitors who can be on the festival grounds at the same time is limited. The association protagon e.V. regulates the entrance and exit. Distance markings and notices indicate compliance with appropriate measures. The International Women*Theater-Festival is an event with fixed seating in several areas on the grounds. If one area is full, we ask visitors* to be seated in another area. There will be no standing places at the performances.
For a safe and fast entrance, please fill out a registration form in advance. You can download it easily from our website:
