The Daedalus Company‘s current production is a performance on the topic of “Ageing womyn in our society”. Another important aspect is diversity in ageing. The ensemble is interested in love, sexuality and the dreams and wishes of elderly womyn in different social contexts and with different life backgrounds. In this regard, they examine the presence and absence of elderly womyn in virtual spaces and in the city. Here, in expensive and busy Frankfurt, their invisibility is particularly visible. The performers go out into public space with a camera team and interview various everyday experts. The ensemble uses the material to develop the performance. Two novels also play a role: “The Diaries of Jane Somers” by Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing and “The Hearing Trumpet” by one of the most important surreal artists of her time, the painter and author Leonora Carrington.
