WOMEN PERFORMING EUROPE
Women Performing Europe – The Magdalena Project Across Borders was a two-year transnational collaboration between four organizations: Protagon e.V. (Germany), Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium/Odin Teatret (Denmark), Teatro Nucleo (Italy), and Stowarzyszenie Grupa Artystyczna Teraz Poliz (Poland). Between 2020 and 2022, the partners exchanged diverse approaches to intersectional feminist work through festivals, cultural events, and symposiums. The project aimed to spark an international exchange of ideas, building a broader understanding of the practices and policies shaping women’s participation in the artistic field.
The results of this project include a handbook exploring new pedagogical activities and strategies for female artists to be better prepared and trained to work in cultural spaces. The authors reflect on the experience of participating in Women Performing Europe and the path forward for creating spaces of socio-cultural visibility for women.
