LuchasLivres
DJ carolitaLApomba & DJ Princess X
LuchasLivres is a queer-feminist, intersectional DJ project that mixes Brazilian music with Eastern European music and Arabic techno. The project was initiated by DJ carolitaLApomba and DJ Princess X. DJ carolitaLApomba combines regional rhythms from the North and Northeast of Brazil with international songs from the contemporary feminist electro scene in São Paulo, the “Tambores de Minas.” Her perspective is that of the periphery and of Black women, queers, and men who produce incredibly exciting music. For this LuchasLivres project, she brings in DJ Princess X, who plays Romanian techno-trance, proto-manele, and Arabic techno. Together, they want to give a voice to these marginalized subjects while also dancing to the joy of life and bringing a diverse musical perspective to the festival.
