Tabula
Les Cícliques
According to the philosophical concept of tabula rasa (clean slate), people are born with an empty mind and all knowledge and skills come as a result of learning. In order to regain her memory after an accident and to find her authenticity, our protagonist asks herself what is the origin of her concept. In this quest, she discovers that it’s not just the words, but the slate on which they are carved. How can we erase what we have written? Maybe we don’t have to, maybe we can start in this moment, right now. Just by taking care of our self-love, we can return to our essence. But an essence that is no longer a clean slate. A performance that claims self-love in terms of gender, fusing gestural theatre and puppetry.

BIOS:
Les Cícliques was born four years ago by a group of students from the same drama school. Since then, they have created a safe space to talk freely about frustrations, taboo subjects and the oppression we experience for being women. From the moment they came together, they wanted to make visible through theatre everything that worried, confused and disturbed them. That is why they chose critical and social theatre. On Women's Day 2019, they created their first play, “OFEC“, with the aim of giving a voice to all silenced women.Their latest project is Tabula, directed by Julieta Gascón Roque, co-founder and director of the theatre company Zero en Conducta. Les Cícliques brings together different disciplines: interpretation, dance, puppetry and other scenic resources. Their goal is to create through artistic languages to reach all people beyond the text.
