transFORMAT[i:on] Mixed-abled Tanzworkshop
– Anno Bolender & Keiko Schmitt – Reclaiming Dance
In the inclusive dance workshop TransFORMAT[i:on], we deal with minor crises, major conflicts and their resolution: texts, words and images that move the participants are individually reflected on and translated into dance movement inspired by them. Physical, emotional and visual associations shape the transformative process, which produces diverse creative movements and expressions. In this way, we create positive feelings and desirable states such as inner peace and balance. Which images and ideas give us hope, which movements are created? How can we transform crisis situations internally through dance and create peace within ourselves? In the workshop, we first face crises by recognizing them and then transform them through dance. At the end, we will embody movements that we perceive as healing and conflict-resolving, which will strengthen us individually and collectively

BIOS:
Reclaiming Dance was founded in 2020 by the dancers Keiko Schmitt and Anno Bolender as an emancipatory, holistically inclusive, contemporary dance project that aims to make dance accessible to every body. The focus is on who owns or should own dance, who can participate, what barriers and hierarchies exist and need to be broken down in order to be able to use dance as an artistic tool to create a more equal, livable world for all.
