IF*TF Artistic Director Bárbara Luci Carvalho has received the City of Frankfurt Diversity Award (Frankfurter Diversitätspreis) in recognition of her longstanding commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal participation in the arts.

As the founder and artistic director of the International Womxn’s Theatre Festival (IF*TF), she has created an internationally recognized platform that promotes feminist, intersectional, and anti-racist performing arts while fostering dialogue across cultures and communities. Her work has significantly contributed to making Frankfurt’s cultural landscape more inclusive by amplifying the voices of women, BIPoC, migrant, and queer artists.

The City of Frankfurt Diversity Award honors individuals, initiatives, and organizations whose work makes an outstanding contribution to diversity, equal opportunities, anti-discrimination, and social cohesion in Frankfurt. Through her artistic vision and cultural leadership, Bárbara Luci Carvalho demonstrates how the arts can create spaces for participation, representation, and social transformation.
