DIASPORA bringt mit großer Sensibilität, die der Gewalt des Krieges entgegensteht, Geschichten von und über Frauen* auf die Bühne. Die Produktion wagt einen Perspektivwechsel und setzt sich in ausdrucksstarken Bildern und Szenen mit unserer individuellen und gesamtgesellschaftlichen Verantwortung auseinander. Sie fragt danach, wie wir vor Krieg,
Ausbeutung, Vertreibung und Verbrechen an unseren Mitmenschen nicht die Augen verschließen, sondern zum Subjekt der Beendigung dieser Zustände werden.
Die Neuinterpretation von Euripides’ zeitloser Tragödie nimmt die verheerenden Nachwirkungen des antiken Trojanischen Krieges zum Ausgangspunkt und richtet den Blick auf die Situation von Migrant*innen und Menschen auf der Flucht heute. Thematisiert werden dabei etwa (neo-)koloniale Ausbeutungsstrukturen im Globalen Süden sowie aktuell der Krieg in der Ukraine.

With great sensitivity—standing in stark contrast to the violence of war—DIASPORA brings stories by and about women* to the stage. The production dares to shift perspectives, using evocative imagery and scenes to grapple with our individual and collective societal responsibilities. It asks how we can avoid turning a blind eye to war, exploitation, displacement, and crimes against our fellow human beings, and instead become active agents in bringing these conditions to an end. This reinterpretation of Euripides’ timeless tragedy takes the devastating aftermath of the ancient Trojan War as its starting point, turning its focus to the contemporary situation of migrants and displaced persons. In doing so, it addresses issues such as (neo-)colonial structures of exploitation in the Global South and the current war in Ukraine.
